" FATHER GOD, SEND REVIVAL, AND LET IT START WITH ME"

2 Kings 22:5
And let them deliver it into the hand of the doers of the work, that have the oversight of the house of the LORD: and let them give it to the doers of the work which [is] in the house of the LORD, to repair the breaches of the house
In the New Testament, the temple is the body of Christ.  We are living stones.  Step One toward Revival is to Repair the Breaches : Jesus said "by this shall all men know that you are My disciples, that you have love for one another." [John 13:35] We must first cry out to God, for His love for one another.  We must repent of our tendency to focus on our differences, and start focusing on our common truths, the foremost of which is that God commands us to love one another, as He loves us.  Nothing will happen toward revival, until this issue is cleansed.  God is love, and He will not move, until His love is allowed to prevail among us. A wise rabbi once said "love is not blind : love sees more; but, because love sees more, it is happy and willing to see less."  There is only one way to move forward toward such unity : praying together for it.  It was to the 120 disciples in one accord that the Holy Spirit was poured out like a mighty rushing wind

2 Kings 22:8-10

And Hilkiah the high priest said unto Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the LORD. And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it. 9 And Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, Thy servants have gathered the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of them that do the work, that have the oversight of the house of the LORD. 10 And Shaphan the scribe shewed the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath delivered me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king

Step Two toward Revival is Rediscovering the Word of God.
2 Kings 22:11

And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the book of the law, that he rent his clothes

Step Three toward Revival is Confession of Sin.  We must thoroughly confess all sin, weights, and  shortcomings which the Holy Spirit reveals.  He may reveal questionable habits, or even indulgences that are perfectly biblically  "legal",  but have been allowed to share the throne of our heart with God.
2 Kings 22:13

Go ye, enquire of the LORD for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found: for great [is] the wrath of the LORD that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us

Step Four toward Revival is to Enquire of the LORD for Instruction, toward Personal Application His Word.  We need Him to reveal the path of repentance, that we might truly experience the fruit of His Spirit, and genuinely lift up holy hands to Him.  By the power of His Spirit, we must both  stop doing evil, and start doing good.  Revival causes each of us to lift up holy hands, and then to reach out open hands, in obedience to God.  We need to ask God to show us how He would have us Reach out to others in love.  In the New Testament, this means receiving the fullness of the Holy Spirit's power, and looking for the evidence of God's love.
2 Kings 23:1-3

And the king sent, and they gathered unto him all the elders of Judah and of Jerusalem. 2 And the king went up into the house of the LORD, and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the people, both small and great: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant which was found in the house of the LORD. 3 And the king stood by a pillar, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all [their] heart and all [their] soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people stood to the covenant

Step Five toward Revival is to Respond Outwardly to God. Solemnly express, celebrate our cleansing to the Lord, and testify before our brethren.  Stand up, Bow Down, Walk Forward for an Altar Call, ANYTHING.  Openly Acknowledge that it is His Renewal and Working in us, in prayer, in worship, in fellowship, in meditation on His word, and open proclamation of the glory of His forgiveness and grace in Christ Jesus [Eph 2:1-10].
2 Kings 23:4-6

And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the door, to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the grove, and for all the host of heaven: and he burned them without Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried the ashes of them unto Bethel. 5 And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that burned incense unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of heaven. 6 And he brought out the grove from the house of the LORD, without Jerusalem, unto the brook Kidron, and burned it at the brook Kidron, and stamped [it] small to powder, and cast the powder thereof upon the graves of the children of the people

Step Six toward Revival is Full Repentance, and the Removing of all idols.  God has to work in our hearts His goodness, thus exposing our sin, and cause us to beg Him to remove all that it not of Him.  He then grants the power of His Spirit to affect repentance.  How many times have we heard it taught that repentance precedes revival?  It is the opposite!  The goodness of God leads us to repentance [Rom 2:4].  It is by the Spirit that we mortify the deeds of the flesh [Rom 8:13].  It is by walking in the Spirit that we receive power over the works of the flesh [Gal 5:16].  It is the Spirit that both creates a love for God, and empowers the new creation to perform that which is good [Rom 5:5] [2Cor 5:14-17] [Phil 2:13].  It is love, that is agape, God's love that never fails [1Cor 13:8].  Out of love, inspired and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we must make every wrong toward God and man right. By the power of the Spirit, we must make a clean break from all things in our lives that are not of God, and start filling our lives with the things which are of God.  This does not imply sinless perfection, but, it does imply a living sacrifice [Rom 12:1-2], and learning to obey the Spirit promptly.
2 Kings 23:21-23

And the king commanded all the people, saying, Keep the passover unto the LORD your God, as [it is] written in the book of this covenant. 22 Surely there was not holden such a passover from the days of the judges that judged Israel, nor in all the days of the kings of Israel, nor of the kings of Judah; 23 But in the eighteenth year of king Josiah, [wherein] this passover was holden to the LORD in Jerusalem

Step Seven toward Revival is Restoring the Ordinances.  In the New Testament, it means partaking of The Lord's Table, Communion.
